Actively experience the Pillersee
Besides swimming, boat trips or stand-up paddling, you can also experience the Pillersee on land in its most diverse facets. Here are some of the routes and experiences which you should not miss:
A walk around the Pillersee – a wonderful experience!
The Pillersee circuit is a popular hiking trail for families – especially due to the fact that you can also push prams along here. Start the walk at the parking area Dorf (village)/Pillersee and follow the path along the right-hand side of the lake to our Seestüberl. After a small snack, you can continue with renewed strength over the little jetty to the opposite side of the lake, here you can either walk along the lake or via the ridgeway back to the parking area. You will have arrived at your destination after about an hour.
Bee nature trail
On the north shore of the Pillersee, locals and visitors can learn more important facts regarding bees and our environment. Start directly from our restaurant into the bee nature trail; this includes many information boards regarding the topic of bees and honey. In the summer, a guided tour takes place every Thursday.
Cycling & mountain biking
More than 800 kilometres of cycle and mountain bike paths lead through the PillerseeTal – many of these run along the emerald green Pillersee itself. Besides the little Pillersee circuit, we recommend the sculpture cycle path and the Buchensteinwand and Kalkstein tours, whereby the lake always acts as the starting point for each of these.
Swimming
On hot days, there is nothing more refreshing than jumping into the emerald green Pillersee! The water temperature barely rises above 19° Celsius because the lake is fed from 3 mountain streams. After your fun in the water, you can sunbathe on our large sunbathing area.
Boat hire on the Pillersee
Those who prefer to remain dry can hire a padalo or rowing boat from us at the Seestüberl. A boat tour is a wonderful alternative during your holiday and is guaranteed to provide fun for both old and young!
Learn stand up paddling
Completely new at the Pillersee: Stand-up paddling! Regardless of whether you would like to join a course or simply paddle on your own across this natural bathing lake, the SUP Center at the Pillersee looks forward to your visit!
